PARN's new publication, Social Networking; its benefits and challenges for professional bodies, will be released at the 24 March event in London. All event delegates will receive a FREE copy of the publication.

Everyone it seems has an opinion on social networking. It has been blamed for causing cancer and turning the nation’s youth into anti-social depressives. On the other hand it is credited with getting Barack Obama elected. Where in this mass of contradictory information does the truth lie? And what can social media offer to membership organisations?

This book, based on original research by the Professional Associations Research Network (PARN), attempts to make some sense of this hype. It looks at how professional bodies and other membership organisations might engage with social media. It particularly considers how they can build on their already extensive networks and communities of practice.
