Four Day Work week trial in the UK with around 30 companies signed up

Employers across the UK are signing up to be part of trail that cuts the working week to four days, instead of five without reducing pay or other full-time staff benefits.

The Pilot run from June - December 2022 during which time employees will only be required to work 32 hours, though some employers may request these hours are spread over five days, depending on business needs, for many this will mean working just four days a week.

There is still time to sign up to the first phase of the trial programme with the deadline for applications set as 31st March 2022.

The four day week campaign in the UK joins "similar pilot schemes taking place in Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand."

The Campaign states "The standard 9-5, 5 day working week is outdated and no longer fit for purpose.

We invented the weekend a century ago and are long overdue a four-day working week which would benefit workers, employers, the economy, our society and our environment.

Together we can build a society where we work to live, rather than live to work."
