With nearly 5,000 members from healthcare, academia and industry, IPEM now wishes to inspire passion to advance science and engineering in medicine for public benefit.

About the role

With the forthcoming retirement of their current CEO, IPEM now wish to appoint a successor.  A challenging and exciting opportunity, the successful candidate will need to deliver on the charitable objectives of the Institute by engaging the membership. The ability to listen and respond to all IPEM’s stakeholders will be essential, meeting the evolving requirements of the Institute which has the potential to grow nationally and internationally.  Whether through their work in education, publications, meetings and bursaries, the Institute is ambitious for its future; encouraging the advancement of knowledge, setting and influencing standards and best practice, education, training and continuing professional development to develop and grow expertise. 


An inspirational leader, you will easily demonstrate your skills in building unifying, effective working relationships with members and beyond. You will bring with you a successful track record of strategic leadership, leading on change and making plans an operational reality.  Enabling IPEM to build upon its success, you will ensure the Institute is a responsive, progressive professional membership body; raising its profile.  Entrepreneurial by nature, you will manage a broad portfolio of responsibilities; using your commercial acumen to help identify new and innovative opportunities for growth.


Above all, you will be committed to delivering IPEM’s mission; to constantly improve human health by the application of physics and engineering to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease through research, innovation, education and clinical practice.
