The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) regulates the practice of osteopathy in the United Kingdom. By law osteopaths must be registered with the GOsC in order to practise in the UK. GOsC is looking for an individual to join the Audit Committee as an external member of the Committee, which means someone who is not a member of the GOsC Council. The GOsC is the UK-wide statutory body established by the Osteopaths Act 1993 to develop and regulate the osteopathic profession and ensure public protection.

About the role

Job Title: Audit Committee – External Member
Location: Meetings are usually held at the General Osteopathic Council offices in London.
Remuneration: £306 per day. Travel and subsistence expenses are also refundable within limits set by the GOsC

The Audit Committee provides assurance that the necessary internal and external systems and processes are in place for identifying, managing and mitigating the risks relating to the discharge of the GOsC’s statutory duties, and makes recommendations for any actions to Council and the Executive as appropriate.

We are seeking an individual with the competencies to enhance the scrutiny activities carried out by the Committee and to add value around internal and external audit, risk management and performance measurement.
