Job Title: Selection Committee Members
Term of Office: Post is normally for a period of 3 years
Remuneration: £200 a day plus all actual expenses incurred will be reimbursed
The Selection Committee is appointed by the Directors to contribute to the recruitment process for Directors, to interview candidates, undertake skills and competency-based analysis for advertised roles and make recommendations on appointments to the Directors.
The Selection Committee shall be constituted in accordance with, and shall abide by, article 39 of the Memorandum and Articles of Association and any relevant Byelaws passed by the Council.
The Selection Committee will take direction from the Directors on the skills or experience being sought and support the recruitment and appointment of suitable company Directors from both within the profession and externally.
Normally, the Selection Committee will consistent of 5 people, the majority of whom will be BDA members. The Selection Committee will usually include the Chairman and CEO, along with at least one non BDA member/employee. Other BDA members will be appointed by Council from the membership. Usually 3 or 4 members of the Selection Committee will take part in any recruitment round. Each panel will include at least one Director or the CEO and at least one non-Council member.
The Selection Committee will be appointed by, and be accountable to, the BDA Council. Selection Committee members will be appointed for a period of 3 years and may be reappointed once for a maximum of a further 3 years.
