The first event will provide an introduction to the Research SIG, an insight into how the SIG means to go on! We will have researchers and consultants provide insight into their experiences, they will discuss the challenges and opportunities within the sector. We will also allow ample time for open discussion and invites all attendees to provide their thoughts on what they would like to see in future Research SIG events.

Research in the Professional Body and Membership Organisation Sector

The first event will provide an introduction to the Research SIG, an insight into how the SIG means to go on!

Speakers:

• Ben Harris- Associate Director of Research By Design- discussing research support, how to improve outreach, NPSs, member satisfaction surveys and much more!
• Cathy Cummings- CEO of the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations- speaking on the Alliance’s research across their world-wide membership and how they utilise their findings.

Interviews with the steerers and their respective activities within their professional bodies: Gareth Jones- Royal Society of Chemistry, Vannessa Riboloni- Chartered Insurance Institute, Brian Runciman- British Computer Society, Naomi Allen- Royal Aeronautical Society and Alex Witt- PARN.
