Partner, Head of VAT
Phil will outline the principles behind Business/Non-Business apportionments, their distinction, partial exemption, and the impact on VAT recovery carrying out a non-business activity can have. This will include a discussion on HMRC’s recent approach to this and conclude with a short update on the practical aspects relating to opting to tax property.
Nick Bustin
Employment Tax Director
Nick will be looking at HMRC and their challenges off-payrolling of benefits, with a particular focus on the Not for Profit and Charity sectors. He will provide guidance on how organisations can best prepare for the mandatory payrolling of benefits which come into effect as of April 2026, amongst other updates.
Jamie Whale
Senior Manager
Jamie will provide an update on Business Tax, looking into the changes to capital allowances, discussing the R&D tax credits and what the latest changes might mean, and will close with a thought provoking insight into when membership is not taxable for non charities.
